After analyzing leaked Cities Skylines 2 screenshots we can make some educated guesses what "deep simulation" actually might mean.
How the gameplay might be affected sure still is in the realm of speculation but the indicators for a way more solid timeline in the game are stacking up.
This will probably blow your mind. Just imagine if they do this right, then we might get a way more dynamic simulation of our cims behaviours throughout the day. If they actually will go as far as simulating weekend days different than work days we could get really far. Like cims visiting events, each other / neighbours, attractions in the city or actually go on vacation for a ingame week. Such a week probably will just be 3 days maximum. Colossal Order is building the foundation of a proper timeflow to eventually be modded later.
