Minigames are meant to be a break from hard games - but these examples didn’t get the memo. Here are 7 times minigames were harder than the final boss. From impossible arcade games to nightmare rhythm games, this week’s Friday Feature is about big challenges in small packages. How many of them have you played?

If you scoff at the idea of a nightmare minigame then you’ve clearly never wrestled with the higher levels of blackjack in Red Dead Redemption 2 or tried to take home the trophy in Journey of the Prairie King. And spare a thought for people trying to conquer Kingdom Hearts’ Ice Cream Beat or Dead Space asteroid shooting. There’s nothing mini about these challenges.
